I was trying to add a default value for source warehouse field , unfortunately this function did not seem to be working , i ran an update this morning but then the search function stopped working after update , please help

Thank you for your prompt response , fixed, but the set a default value function under Setup -> Customize forms is still not working , it says updated but in the background it says not saved , and changed are note saved , see attached , thanks

Yes. Its a know issue and we are checking into it. But on update, customizations are saved correctly. You should check for customization after clear cache and refresh.
