I am attempting to install the press app on a fresh Frappe Framework v15.86.0 installation and am encountering dependency conflicts that prevent installation and a subsequent bench build. I have tried installing with both the develop and master branches of the press app, and both attempts resulted in failure due to incompatible Python package versions.
How can I overcome this issue ?

I have also tried installing PRESS without success. Although I get a different error.
Perhaps you have already found the link below but further down in this link are a few
postings from someone that has a system running. And also a suggestion at the version of Ubuntu that one uses.

Nope, I have ignored the dependencies issues for now.
