Disable Rename Item

Hi All,

Is there way in the front end to disable the ability to rename Item?

Just noticed that if we rename an item it updates in all the closed and old sales invoices. if there is an option to disable that would be very helpful.

I don’t think there is an option currently like, maybe it should be handled as part of permissions of the user. You can raise a GitHub issue for the same.

One way is editing the Item Doctype and disable Allow Rename option. However, this requires the site to be in developer mode

Thank you for the information.

I knew of this option, I did not want to modify the core doctypes.
