Do you think ERPNext is good for online stores?

Unlike HRMS, there is no tag release for webshop and payments. Would you recommend setting up an online store with ERPNext plus webshop and payments?

I’ve seen that before, but I’m wondering whether it’s a good idea to set up an online store with ERPNext, without using Amazon, Shopify or WooCommerce.

To my knowledge, ERPNext is really good, but it’s not the best option if SEO is important. If you’re planning to scale with eCommerce + SEO, it’s better to build an SEO-friendly website and use ERPNext only as the backend. If SEO doesn’t matter much, then you can use ERPNext directly. The only risk is SEO performance

There are many areas that Frappe and/or ERPNext excel in, but I don’t think e-commerce is one of them.

The limitation of only 1 image can be attached to a product is very limiting for me, especially for physical product that usually need visual representation at product page to convince market to purchase. SEO is also the limitation.

@flim We have a customer that uses the webshop mainly for their frequent B2B customers. From what I know, there is a large remake of the web UI planned that will use Frappe Builder. However, this has been ongoing for more than a year now. In its current state, the webshop is, in my opinion, not really usable for anything beyond a simple B2B shop. Which is a bit of a shame, because the overall idea behind it is great. As far as I know, it is also currently not v16 compatible, and the UI for end users lacks some fundamental usability features.

I completely agree, it’s incredible to have lost the goose that laid the golden eggs, I always say that.
At the conference, it seemed like they really wanted to revive it, but six months have passed and nothing has been shown.
The e-commerce integrations are practically all half-baked; this eliminates friction, and even if 50% of the functionality of Shopify, WooCommerce, etc. is lost, many would bet on Frappe’s solution, based on the simplicity of integration.

Want to launch our limited product ecommerce site. Read that vue.js is a lot faster loading than wordpress (plugin issues etc). Just wondering if it is possible to have a vue.js type site hosted on frappe instance (that actually shows the products with multiple static images served without pinging the db) and then use erpnext for accounting part - starting say with the add to cart/process payment/create sales order functionality? Not a coder by profession - so appreciate some guidance on how to best integrate with frappe…seems waiting could take a lot longer.

It is sad that B2C is not a priority. My plan is selling a small variety of products online, but only 1 image can be attached is really limited, but that is no big deal, I can have a product page for it. But I am not sure what would be the direction of development, if it is not v16 compatible, and the possibility rewrite using Builder, is it risky to launch an online store this year?
