Docker yml portainer stack

I have installed erpnext using a stack on portainer. Using the following, I have not been getting all the modules, such as HR and Payroll (see attached screenshot). Where is the yml going wrong?

You’ll need to install Frappe HR App to get payroll & HR: GitHub - frappe/hrms: Open Source HR and Payroll Software

Didn’t HR and Payroll used to be part of the main erp? Why did they separate it into separate apps now?

I don’t really know how to install hrms in my existing install. Can anyone help me?

Since v14, HR is a separate app. So to include it in a docker setup, you’ll need to build your own image following this document: frappe_docker/docs/custom-apps.md at main · frappe/frappe_docker · GitHub

You can visit this Frappe demo page to see how HRMS App is integrated into Frappe v15 & Erpnext: Login

This Frappe Cloud demo has both apps (Erpnext & HRMS) installed.

Is there any way to do it using portainer (GUI) instead? I am not totally comfortable using CLI.

No, portainer can’t build images. It is basically a front end for docker compose. It can only use images that already exist. Frappe only publishes frappe+erpnext images, which no longer includes HR and payroll. If you aren’t comfortable with CLI, you have basically 4 choices:

  1. use v15 Frappe + ERPNext images without HR and payroll and handle those functions some other way
  2. stick with v13 images, which receive no updates since they are at end of support
  3. use frappe cloud instead of self-hosted (this may be your best option)
  4. Pay somebody else to build the initial images for you and provide a step-by-step process to follow when you need to update your images. I have provided this service for others in the past and could do it again if you are interested.
