Edit item code on serial number

Hi,

We massively imported serial no and we worked on these. We realized that the item codes are wrong and we wanted to change them, but erpnext does not allow it.
Unfortunately we can not delete and redo the serial, are there any solutions?

I saw that in js there is a piece for the change only on the creation, if I commented there would be some contraindication?

I only commented on those lines that prevent the serial from changing the article
