Email configuration: incoming email, best practices?

when setting up email for issues, sales, notifications etc, do we need separate mailboxes for issues@x.com, sales@x.com, notifications@x.com, or can we ave one mailbox allmail@x.box, where issues@x.com, sales@x.com, notifications@x.com just act as aliases to allmail@x.com.

what is better, using aliases or proper mailboxes from the erpnext viewpoint and why?

I think separate email ids are better. When using aliases, the system wont be able to separate them since each of them will be on the the same incoming email.
