when I first set up ERPNext, I chose not to display numbers in the charts of accounts. now I want to enable and show the numbers on the chart

Since company is established and COA has been defined left you with chart of accounts importer option.
Curious why there is no simple option to switch.
Is this a relict from some past?
Or is there some deeper technical reason not to make switching account display easy?
