ERPNext Needs FIRS E-Invoicing Integration

Hi everyone,

FIRS (Federal Inland Revenue Service) has announced that its National e-Invoicing system (Merchant-Buyer model) will go live for all Large Taxpayers starting August 1st, 2025.

Right now, ERPNext is not listed as one of the supported ERPs — which creates a big gap for Nigerian businesses using the platform.

Let’s Build the Integration

FIRS has released APIs for invoice validation, signing, and compliance. We can build an open-source ERPNext app to:

  • Connect to the FIRS e-Invoicing API
  • Submit and validate invoices
  • Handle IRN and QR code generation
  • Track invoice status and errors

Call to Action

If you’re a developer, accountant, ERPNext user, or just interested in helping, please reply here. Let’s team up and make sure ERPNext is ready before the deadline.

This is a great chance to support local businesses and grow ERPNext’s impact in Nigeria.

Good day Obinna
i will suggest you hire a frappe developer to do the integration for you. Frappe will not want to do it because your country contribution to Frappe is more or less at nil value. Thanks

I get it

Hi @Obinna_Ukwueze I have developed a Nigerian Compliance app that includes Nigeria E-Invoicing. If you have or are in the process of developing something similar, let’s connect and see if we need to collaborate to merge it into a single app.

@Phillip I don’t know what country you’re from but this statement is condescening and improper to say the least. Ask the Frappe leadership and they will tell you many of the innovative features of ERPNext in the past and even in the present were contributed from this country or actively supported. The fact that they no longer speak in this forumn does not diminish their contributions. So you should think before you speak so as not sound disrespectful or condescending.

Love the idea, but curious how complex the FIRS API is in practice. Gov APIs aren’t exactly known for being smooth.

Thank you. I’ll be in your DM.

Amazingly he is a Nigerian, but he just recently joined the community this year.

I can forgive him for his lack of historical perspective.

But I cannot forgive him for his disrespect of an entire Nation, for no reason at all.

Hi, is your FIRS E-Invoicing app paid or open source? I left you several private messages and wondering if you did get them.
