ERPNext Support?

Hi,

I am writing a bachelor Thesis on ERP Systems and wanted to know if anyone had experience with ERPNext Support, specifically regarding the self-hosted Platform. If yes could you maby tell me about your experience? Which tier where you on or if the support cost something.

Hi @mpp, welcome to the community!

I started with ERPNext in 2011, and until last year, I was more active on the community, answering few questions from time to time in this channel!

I think if you make a set of questions will be better to answer, but let me try!

From the last 6 years, ERPNext have become more stable and predictable for self-hosting!

  1. First there was just a recipe in bash that need patches on every install
  2. Then virtualbox images and also a vagrant script
  3. Finally with docker is where the stability in terms of self-hosting took shape!

The system be stable, doesn’t means it’s free of bugs for self-hosters, but since the software is truly free, we can fix few things from time to time, and across my journey with ERPNext, I’m watching it become more mature, stable and predictable in ways that I hadn’t imagined few years ago.

Costs, everything in life has a cost, and even with a free software it have a cost, the major cost requested by the tool, is Time. From a truly free software standpoint nobody has obligations, what maybe for someone is urgent or needed, for everyone else isn’t, so it will consume time, on waiting to get support, waiting to get things fixed, or learning and fixing things by yourself.
