Export and import of doctypes "Custom Feild" from one instance to another is messing up the order of the form elements

Hi i am using the data import tool to download “Custom Feild” doctype and then importing it in another instance. However while doing this the order of the elements are all getting messed up. Is there a way i can retain the order while doing this. Thanks in anticipation.
