Feasablity for tracking item conversions

Hi,

Im seeking your assistance in designing and implementing a comprehensive tracking report within ERPNext. The objective of this report is to provide full visibility across the production cycle, from raw material receipt to finished goods sales, with emphasis on batch traceability and process loss monitoring.

Key Requirements

  1. Item Conversion Tracking

    • Trace the conversion of the first item (raw material) into the second item (intermediate product), and subsequently into the third item (finished good).

    • Ensure that each stage of conversion is linked to its respective Work Order.

  2. Batch Identification

    • Capture the first batch used at each stage.

    • Maintain batch references throughout the conversion chain.

  3. Process Loss Monitoring

    • Record both absolute loss quantity and percentage loss at each stage of production.

  4. Receipt and Work Order Details

    • Integrate Purchase Receipt details for the raw material batch.

    • Display Work Order IDs, items, quantities, and statuses for each stage.

  5. Sales Linkage

    • Connect the finished good batch to Delivery Notes and Sales Invoices for commercial traceability.

Thanks for the consideration

Here we using query report to achieve this but unfortunately, we can’t move forward with the things took complicated.

  1. first thing the item masters and batches are different
  2. second thing there are 2 to 3 work orders and Bom involved ( with multiple different batches)
  3. And final thing there are lot of warehouse transaction (stock entries involved) before sale order.

Please help us to achieve this process in ERP next…

If its very complicated I suggest you create multiple script reports and link them

An example is how you can drill-down in the P&L → GL → SI
