Fetch customer name against serial number

I would like to fetch the customer name against serial number in the doctype serial no
i have added a custom field in the serial no doctype
any pointers on how to achieve this

Difficult to set the customer name in serial number but if you want to set then you have to check the method of creating a serial number and add your logic according to the scenario.
