Fetch Form to another document

May you help me in my issue
I have created a new doctype , I want when choosing the number of the employee, all the employee related data and field on another doctype to be fetch.

use link field and fetch from ( add_fetch )

when creating a new doctype that has a link for another custom doctype, is the manual; Fetching Data from a Document, applicable with this scenario?

Or the manual will only work on the standard fields (erpnext fields) only?

I did a 5 new doctype that are linked to each other. However I am having a hard time creating custom scripts to fetch the data on each fields for the 5 doctypes.
