File attachment save location

I am new to ERPNext and recently installed v12.19. I am very impressed so far.

Having said that, where are file attachments saved? If they are saved into the database, is there a way to have them save to the filesystem instead? I prefer to keep the database as small as possible and large attachments in the database runs contrary to that.

If attachments cannot be saved to the filesystem instead of the database, I request that as a feature enhancement.

Hi Diggy,

I was just browsing through some forum posts and saw your old post. I hope you have managed to locate the file location. The location you are looking for is ~/frappe-bench/sites/{you site name}/private/files for private files and ~/frappe-bench/sites/{your site name}/public/files for public files which can be browsed from the internet.
