Frappe Cloud or AWS

Hello everyone, I have finished developing an application for ERPNext, and I want to deploy it on a server in production. However, I’m not sure which one to choose. Would you recommend deploying it on AWS or Frappe Cloud? My goal is to offer subscriptions to different companies for the application I developed.

If you want to have subscription based earning then you must try Add-on service offered by ERPNext. For hosting platform follow the guideline of Add-on service by ERPNext.

My recommendation upload it on GitHub and make it open source. Follow the spirit of ERPNext, which is a FOSS.

Whether this is a standalone frappe app or an app that extends ERPNext, Frappe Cloud would be the most suitable platform to host your app.

Frappe Cloud seamlessly integrates with Frappe Marketplace, where you can publish your app on a subscription basis. This integration provides a hassle-free and beginner-friendly option for your non-tech clients to subscribe, install, and use your app.

Publishing your app on Frappe Marketplace also aids in marketing by exposing it to a vast user base. While I’m not aware of the exact number of active sites, I can assure you that it’s substantial. You can check their recent conference where they announced the number.

Additionally, Frappe Cloud recently introduced a rewards/fund program for most installed apps. However, I’m not certain if this program is effective for open-source apps only or for any app on the Frappe Marketplace.

If your app is well-developed and offers valuable solutions that extend ERPNext, you’ll likely attract a substantial number of interested subscribers.

Now, the question is: why choose one platform over another (AWS vs FC)? Why not both? As far as I know, Frappe Cloud doesn’t restrict you to where you can publish or offer your app.
