Gmails being marked as read

Hello,
We are new to ERPNext. We have configured the Email Inbox within ERPNext to successfully show emails sent to our user’s Google Workspace email address.

Unfortunately: ERPNext is marking the emails as “read” in the GMail inbox.

Is there a way to configure the Email Account in ERPNext so that it does not mark emails as “read” in the GMail inbox?

This is not related to Frappe and ERPNext.

I do not believe so. Google opens the email to check if it’s spam or not, and probably to remove trackers. This triggers the hook that is sent to ERPNext that the email was read. I do not believe there is a way to determine if the email was opened by a bot or not.

The reason I know this, is because I’m the tech lead of a SaaS that sends mass emails. We investigated why this was happening alongside with our Network engineers and that was the reason.
