Google Analytics and using the web shop feature

I noticed that my average minutes per session on our website has dramatically increased since we moved over to use the web feature of ERPnext. My domain is routed to the erpnext subdomain, so I'm suspicious that my actual customer visitors are inflated with the ERPnext users who are likely spending much more time on the "site" due to ERPnext usage.

Bug?

Laurence,

Thats great :) No users are not tracked inside the application. Please check your content, source tabs to check where the users are coming from and what they are seeing.

Maybe your old analytics was not setup properly.

Either ways -- ERPNext uses the latest markups to make sure the site is very search friendly. Just wait for a few more days, your site will show up in also product related searches.

(maybe you can write a blog post on this - pre and post ERPNext site analysis :)

Thanks for the clarification. I'll keep an eye on website usage and see how our metrics work out... it's only been a week. We're getting the same number of UVs so I'm surprised duration per session has increased 4X.

that's always possible, but the following data is interesting and makes me a little suspicious. Our website's top two sources direct and Google have the following durations:

(direct) / (none) - 2:08:35
google / organic - 00:06:54

2 hours versus six minutes is a bit of a huge difference ... and pages/visit is relatively flat.

Ok - maybe it is considering logged in time for this.

This is not a problem for us since we use "frappe.erpnext.com" to login to ERP. For now, you can ask your users to login from union.erpnext.com so that they don't mess up the analytics.

But this seems to be a problem - let me think what can be done. Maybe be I can exempt the login page from analytics.

Related to this thread:  Just checked whether my last blog entry dated 16 Aug 2013 was indexed by Google. It was not. For other blog entries, that are indexed, I submitted the link manual to Google.

We have a Google plus page, but I have not been able to tell Google that I am the legitimate owner of dogsloveit.erpnext.nl because I cannot paste the necessary code (snippet) in to the header section.

I feel that under the website there should be a option to insert coded, since such thing is required by third parties to proof ownership.

I do hope that if dogsloveit.erpnext.com is properly linked to other "google stuff"the websited is more frequently reindexed.

Robert,

The Analytics will work fine once you move to your own domain. I know its a leap of faith, but will be worth it.! Let us know if you find the link - it should still be possible to add a small snippet if they require.
