Help needed with Setting up Permissions for LEADS

Hi,

I would like to give some users read access on leads based on the following conditions:

  1. When the lead owner field == user id of the user OR
  2. When the next_contact_by == user id of the user.
Please note that the above conditions are OR and not AND.

Then I would also like the same user to be able to see the QUOTATIONS or OPPORTUNITIES of the same LEADS which they have access to.

Using the user permissions manager is not very good since user permission would not tell me who this lead is assigned to when I am looking at the lead.
Also adding user permissions is not very user friendly as we would have to open the USER Permission manager everytime a new lead is created by the user as that lead would not be in the USER PROPERTIES of the user and the ADMIN would have to assign the lead to the person every time a new LEAD is created.

Is there a way to do it so that we don't have to fiddle with user permissions every time.

Best way is to give permissions by territorries / customer groups (fine tune these so that it meets your sales structure)

Hi Rushabh,

Few things I would like to point out:
  1. It was possible earlier to ensure that the users had access based on these two fields in LEADS, lead_owner and next_contact_by, but after the v4 permission manager, I am unable to do the same.
  2. I know you have been telling me to do things territory wise but honestly the territory thing is also not something which one would expect for example:
If there are the following territories:
  1. India (group)
    • West India (group)
      • Maharashtra (group)
        • Mumbai (child)
Now if a user has access to view only MUMBAI territory it would see the customers of that territory but the human logic would say what if a user has access to see Maharashtra (group) records, is that kind of a thing possible in current system, honestly I have not checked this myself but I presume this is not currently possible in the system.

I would once again, like to know if the earlier thing is possible in the current permission manager or that functionality now taken away.

I’m facing same challenges in v13. It makes me think if crm module of erpnext is should be used at corporate level. Looks like no changes are made on year old requests.

any update on this issue ??
