Hello community
I am setting a small clinic which mainly does x-ray, sonographies and some orthopedic surgeries.
The surgeries are definitely clinical procedures. But I am trying to determine if the x-ray and the sonographies should also be clinical procedures or Lab Test. If you have the experience and understands the pro and cons, please share your thoughts.
Thank you

@Ralph_Lavaud Use Clinical Procedure for x-ray and sonography, not Lab Test.
Why:
-
Clinical Procedure supports procedure templates, consumables (film, gel), service units (radiology room), stock deduction, and auto-billing
-
Lab Test is built for structured result entry (numeric values, normal/abnormal ranges, sample collection) — blood work, urine, cultures
X-ray and sonography produce images + radiologist report, not lab values. Wrong tool = messy workflow.
Your setup:
| Service |
DocType |
| X-Ray |
Clinical Procedure |
| Sonography |
Clinical Procedure |
| Orthopedic Surgery |
Clinical Procedure |
| Blood test (future) |
Lab Test |
Quick start: Healthcare → Clinical Procedure Template → New → set Medical Department = Radiology → add consumables → mark billable.
