How do I track the Maintenance of Workstations/Machines which are there in the Shop Floor

I am looking for a way to track the maintenance of the workstations like changing of some regular parts, is that possible in any ways in the current system.

I think I got the solution…

  • create workstations for each of your machines
  • create a new doctype similar to the one “project milestone”
  • this doctype would be linked in the workstation
  • enter the data of maintenance with respect to each machine.

Hi Aditya,

Even more simple solution would be to create task for each maintenance activity on workstation. You can allocate task about which he will be notified by mail and on home page.
Adding a link field for selecting workstation will give you workstation wise task created also.

Hi Umair,

Can you please elaborate on how could I create a task which is assigned to a particular user?

Hi Aditya,

Task allocation is just like allocating lead to sales person.

In task form, you will find allocated to field which will linked to your profile master (or sales person master in some cases). Select the person responsible. That person will receive an intimation that task has been allocated to him. Same task will be visible to him in to-do list when he sign in. There will be timely reminders sent before task end date.
