We have been using this tool for a while and it's worked well for HR. However, we haven't really been able to find a smooth workflow for Sales.
The sales account is linked to an email like sa...@company.com. So whenever a prospect sends an email to this address, an entry is created in the system. It works well till there. But if we'd like to reply to the same prospect via our personal email and not ERPNext (for a more personalized effect), the trace is lost. Also, there's no provision to forward an email that I sent to a lead from my mailbox to ERPNext because it tracks a lead based on the "from" field and not the "to" field. So if I forward that email, a lead entry is created with my name and not the lead's. And further down, when the lead replies to me (without ccing sa...@company.com), I still don't have a way to directly put it in the system without me having to copy-paste the email content or manually update the status.
Can there be any provision to forward these emails to a lead ID or email to keep track of that chain in erpnext's system? Or is there already something that I am missing?
Thanks,
Arpan

The way we manage is that we send all emails from ERPNext only (against a Lead or Contact) This way the trace is maintained.
Also when you send an email from the system, it goes from the user's id so the receiver gets a personalized response.
