How to add custom fields to User Profile?

Hi,

I would like to add a link field in the user profile as a custom field but I am unable to add the same since the doctype profile is not showing in the document list of the custom fields, is the name of the table different or is it locked from adding any custom fields.

Kindly please help as to how I could add a custom field in the user profile.

Adding custom fields on "Core" DocTypes is restricted in version 3 - already allowed in version 4 :) its coming....
