How to Correct Incorrect Opening Stock Valuation Without Affecting Historical Accounting?

What is the recommended way to correct an incorrect opening stock valuation in ERPNext when the opening stock was entered through Stock Reconciliation and transactions have already been completed for the subsequent two financial years? The opening stock value was recorded higher than the actual value, and now we need to correct the valuation without disturbing historical purchase, sales, COGS, Stock Ledger, or other accounting entries. What would be the safest approach to adjust the stock valuation and ensure the current Balance Sheet reflects the correct inventory value?

Make another Stock Reco in present date and just change the valuation? Keep the quantity as it is if correct.

The incorrect valuation relates to stock that has already been sold. Therefore, the current stock quantity is not the issue. I need to correct the valuation/value impact only, without changing the quantity or disturbing the purchase and sales transactions already posted. Is there a recommended way to adjust only the stock value in this situation?

Stock Reco allows you to change the valuation without touching the quantity. For ex. if you have 100 qty in stock with 500 value and you want to change the value of that stock to 250, you can keep the qty the same (100) and change the valuation to 250.

Stock Reco needs either quantity or valuation to differ (or both) to work.

Maybe the tools needs to be called Stock Reconcilliation & Revaluation
