How to create PR to contribute to Frappe on github

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

I’m new to Frappe and have been exploring the framework (really impressed so far — it’s a great foundation for ERPNext).

I’d love to start contributing, but when I tried to create a PR, I wasn’t able to open the pull request.

Could someone please let me know what might have happened?
Is there a specific policy in the Frappe repo that I should be aware of?

I think Frappe has currently restricted new users from creating PRs because of AI bots.

Meantime you can read this guideline.

@aaronmarcelo If you are keen on contributing, you can create an issue / comment on an existing issue w/ the fix that you are trying to plugin and a maintainer will use that branch to create a PR for you. PR access is restricted as of now.

Hi! Is there any update on this?

I would like to open an Issue on ERPNext but I have no permissions to either create a new one or reply on an existing one.

FWIW, Frappe released a statement on their decision and possible contribution paths.

I wanted to open an issue or even a PR to fix an issue aI have with pricing rules. I’m already working on it on my branch. If I were to submit the .patch file, should I contact a mantainer directly? I have permission on the frappe repo but not in the ERPNext repo.
