How to implement purchase control in Budget module

I want to restrict control for my item purchases for projects using budget module. When I tried to configure it asks for account head, but it lists only P&L accounts. Purchase of items for the project can not a P&L item. Why this is so ?

You need to set the expense account on each item in Item Master though that item purchase is not meant for that to control the budget.

As you can see in the image - Purchase Order, Material requsition etc. can be controlled via budget. If at all we set in item master how do we control purchase ?

Hi,

You need to set the expense account either at Item Group Level or at Item Level as follows:

After that, whenever you make Purchase Request or Purchase order, system will track the budget against that account and stop/warn based on the budget settings.
