How to run MRP function in V15?

Hi everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I am new to ERPNext and I am currently trying to set up and run the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functionality within the system. I have been exploring the documentation and forums, but I still have some questions and would appreciate some guidance.

Specifically, I am looking for information on:

  1. Setting up the necessary configurations:
  • What are the essential configurations needed before running MRP?
  • How do I set up Bill of Materials (BOMs), work centers, and other related data?
  1. Running the MRP tool:
  • Where can I find the MRP tool in the ERPNext interface?
  • What parameters should I consider when running MRP?
  1. Handling the output of MRP:
  • How do I interpret the results of the MRP run?
  • How can I convert the generated material requests into purchase orders and production plans?
  1. Optimizing MRP:
  • Are there any best practices for optimizing MRP in ERPNext?
  • How can I ensure that the MRP is running efficiently and accurately?

If anyone has experience with running MRP in ERPNext and could share their insights or point me to relevant resources, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
naikun

MRP functionality is not directly available as a standalone feature. However, you can still plan material requirements through various features in the system. To begin with, you can create a price list specifically for MRP, which will help set and manage item rates. This price list can then be used to determine the cost of materials based on your planning needs.

In addition, you may need to set up bills of materials (BOMs) and work centers, which are essential for planning production and understanding the materials required. Once your BOM and work orders are set up, you can use the material request feature to initiate procurement or production planning.

To optimize your MRP process, make sure all your data is accurate and up-to-date and consider developing custom scripts if needed to orderly your workflow.

Thanks for you help!
