I don't want to oversell stock

So I buy stock at one time of the year, that’s the only stock I buy and it tends to last me for the complete year.

My issue is, if I have 300 of an item in stock, ERPNext will let me sell more than 300 which will leave customers unhappy.

I want the system to NOT let me sell more than I have in stock but I can’t see that there’s an option for it? I know if I use the maintain stock option then i can theoretically get notifications to re-order but this is all end of line stock and can’t be re-ordered.

Is there an option I’m missing? I’m extremely new to ERP for this business, this is my first attempt to set something up for my company that actually works the way I need it to,

Thanks

If you are maintaining stock for this item in your inventory, a stock ledger entry will be made for each transaction of this item. Make sure to keep this option unchecked when creating a non-stock item or a service item.

If Item A has 100 quantity in the XYZ warehouse and you order 110 quantity, the system will not allow you to sell more than 100 units. However, if you enable negative stock in the stock settings, you can sell more than 100 units. Please check this setting in your system.
