I am looking for information on how to handle substitute (alternative) items for consumables within ERPNext.
Specifically, when a specific item is out of stock or needs to be replaced by a similar product during the production or procurement process, does ERPNext have a native feature to handle this?
If so, could you please guide me on:
- Where to configure the “Alternative Item” mapping?
If there is no native support, what is the recommended best practice or custom approach to handle inventory substitution?
Any documentation or reference links would be highly appreciated.
