We've been discussing the use of iPod touches as a simplified input devices to do tasks like "stock transfer", "receiving goods", etc.
This to make it simple & frictionless for workers to quickly get the data in by utilizing extremely simple UI's (that could be preset to where the station where the particular iPod is strapped to).
Tracking-no's or serialized stock could be scanned using the camera or one of those cases with a real bar-code reader.
At first I would expect there to be a lot of apps available in this segment but seems it's very limited, let me know if there are things I've missed. (could also be Android of course).
I'd like to avoid the effort of building from scratch + deploying the system. I briefly checked the point-n-click form creator services such as formstack, wufoo, etc, problem with all these are the UI's feel very web 1.0 and not suitable for handheld. Let me know if there are any good ones, preferably something that with minimum effort could be mapped to the erpnext backend.

A funky feature (module/plugin) of ErpNext I'd like to see is simplified views, to setup kind of like what you'd find in a super nintendo start screen.
I believe many office/warehouse related tasks could be stripped down to a minimum to make them quicker and less error prone but also require less training.
Would anyone be up for building a simple way to define those work-flows in python that could generate web and mobile-adapted UI's?

I guess a whole new set of interfaces could be created for ERPs / business transactions using Mobile phones and what you say sounds very interesting. Can't think of anything that might be available.. maybe a great opportunity!
