Issue with Awesome Bar Search Returning Broad Results Instead of Exact Match

Hi Team,

We are facing an issue with the Awesome Search Bar in Frappe.

When users search for a specific document (for example, a particular Quotation ID like SAL-QTN-2025-00190), the Awesome Bar returns results from multiple DocTypes (Delivery Notes, other Quotations, Leads, etc.) that contain similar text, instead of prioritizing or limiting the results to the exact document being searched.

As shown in the attached screenshot, the search results include various unrelated records rather than focusing on the specific entry the user is trying to find. This is causing confusion for our clients, as they expect the Awesome Bar to return a more precise or exact match.

Could you please advise:

  • Is this the expected/default behavior of the Awesome Bar?

  • Is there any configuration or customization available to improve search precision (e.g., exact match, DocType prioritization, or filtering)?

  • Are there any best practices to make the Awesome Bar more user-friendly for end users?
