Recently, zero-tax transactions have stopped appearing in the GSTR-1 report. The last instance of zero-tax data being shown was on October 5.
GSTR-1 report includes zero-tax data only when the sales invoice item’s GST Treatment is marked as Taxable.
- Attempts to set the Item Tax Template to taxable were unsuccessful because the new India Compliance App does not allow selecting “Taxable” for a Zero Tax model.
- In recent sales invoices, the GST Treatment in the item table is marked as Nil Rated, which seems to be the reason zero-tax transactions are no longer included in the GSTR-1 report.
Proposed Solutions:
- Disable Invalid GST Rate Validation:
- Modify the Item Tax Template validation rules to allow selecting Taxable for zero-tax models.
or
- Update GSTR-1 Report Logic:
- Add an option in the GSTR-1 report to include Nil Rated Tax transactions, ensuring that zero-tax data is reflected in the report.
