Now we have some items created in our stock Initially they were without serial number,s but after carrying multiple transactions on them (purchasing/selling), we decided to add serial numbers to them, but we can’t tick the check box of serial number for any item once any transaction carried, Any solutions for that instead of creating a new item.
Unfortunately no, you need to create a new item code with serial number enabled, transfer the other items to this new new item using a repacking stock entry, then disable the old item after rename it to something else (maybe like item_code-old). After all this you can rename the new item with the same name as the old item.
This ensures you keep track of all inventory and purchases.
I’m pretty sure merging two items with a different “maintain stock” value would not work, but you can try that too.
