I happened upon the files:
apps/erpnext/erpnext/stock/doctype/purchase_receipt/purchase_receipt.json
apps/erpnext/erpnext/crm/doctype/contract/contract.json
and found they are executable (ugo+x).
This looks like a (smallish) bug to me.
In a v14 and also in a v15 installation.
