Learning how to configure Erpnext using https://docs.frappe.io

The lessons are nice, could they be updates to the branch version 15?

The amount of information is, for me, overwhelming. Need for now step by step education

Lots of work what you suggest.

It’s probably supposed to be done by the ecosystem aka the community. E.g. the mythical “someone else”. But:

It’s a big system with many capabilities.

Maybe it’s expecting too much that mastering this should be simple, quick and easy. It might not show at first glance what all it’s capabilities are.

If you are born in the Frappe Central and had xty “parents” (employee gurus) to ask all your questions while growing up, then of course it might look easy.

Maybe that’s a trap the devs who redact help documentation don’t always get out of easily? And why they NEED everybody else to help make the doc better and signal incomprehensible, incomplete or missing explanations?

The problem for me is that start from the beginning with installation, with all the errors, and finally get things working is already a hard job.

Then we get the frame work, what is really a empty frame, need to build op from scratch, with fields and a structure. In my work I am used to see what I make, with this you have to imagen what the result will be but the difficult thing is that there is no clue what the result will be, because of lack in knowledge.

For this good documentation is needed with a explanation what the result will become. Take for example the creation of the website. I do have a website created with Dreamweaver, and looks nice. Now build something like this in Frappe…I have no idea how to start and how to check the outcome from things I make or do.

Many tutorials on internet showing only a little part of the total picture with old builds.

since erpnext is community based we can all contribute towards documentation (even small contributions are welcomed) - you can join the new working group at [Proposal] – Working Group – Documentation
