What do you think of adding a department link to the item master, and having linked in sales orders, production orders, etc. based on department? Then departments could filter to just show records that apply to them
Example: Electrics Dept. would only see Sales Orders, Production Orders with items from their department.
@cpurbaugh why you dont make a relation between Item Groups and Deptartments, and you can fetch the department from the item group!
That actually seems to work pretty well.
But, do you think there could be a way to filter items in the production planning tool by item group? Would this be easily added?
@cpurbaugh, yeah! You can add Item Group as a custom field if it dont exists yet, another point is, you can customize the autofilters, too
