Linking my User with an Employee Profile results in Losing Permissions

When I create an Employee in the HR module, and link my user account to that employee via the “User ID” field, I’m unable to create new employees. It seems the Employee permissions override my general roles (including HR Manager) which shouldn’t be the behavior in my opinion. Is there any way around this or do users of the ERP need separate accounts from their employee accounts?

Turns out I was selecting the “Create User Permissions” option. For anyone that sees this thread: This will reduce the user’s permissions to only be able to edit their own profile (which makes sense).
