I’m currently working on customizing the Frappe v16.5 Desk UI and would like to build a more polished, modern, enterprise-style theme while keeping the core Frappe functionality intact.
I’m looking for recommendations on the best way to approach this.
Is there any well-maintained open-source repository, custom app, or existing theme that could serve as a good starting point for Frappe v16?
I’m particularly interested in customizing areas such as:

Desk navigation and the new Dock

Sidebar and workspace appearance

Navbar and overall layout
-
Forms, lists, tables, dialogs, and cards

Typography, spacing, icons, and general UI consistency

Light/dark theme styling

A cleaner and more professional enterprise look
I’m not necessarily looking for a ready-made theme. A solid repository or architecture that I can build on would also be very helpful.
I would also appreciate any guidance from developers who have already done significant UI customization on v16. For example, would you recommend creating a dedicated Frappe app and overriding/extending the frontend styles and components, or is there a better approach that remains maintainable across Frappe updates?
My main goal is to avoid heavily modifying Frappe core so that future upgrades remain manageable.
Any repositories, examples, documentation, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
