Hello,

I’ve been using ERPNext for a few days and am planning to implement it for our company. Before moving forward with the implementation, I have some questions about production planning.

We are a manufacturing company producing mechanical parts, including CNC machining and other operations. I’m looking for a way to visually represent our production schedule, particularly in a Gantt chart format, showing operations and their timelines. The key requirements are:

  1. After issuing a Work Order, the system should automatically generate a Gantt chart that reflects the production plan, mapping each operation to the available machines and workers.

  2. It’s important that the planning process also considers the availability of materials in the future to ensure smooth production .
    It’s crucial that operations are visually easy to track and adjust if necessary. Is this type of production planning and control available in ERPNext by default, or would additional customization be required?

A visual representation of the production schedule is not available right now. You could only try to achieve it via Customisations, however it can get a bit complex if you want the gantt to be displayed with a forecast of future inventory.
