I worked on a fix for several Desk issues on version-16, but I’m not able to open a PR directly from my GitHub account, so I’m sharing it here in case a maintainer or contributor can help submit it upstream.

Main issues fixed:
- adding the same item to the desktop again could fail with an error
- some desktop icons were not updating properly after changes
- deleted icons could still show up again after refresh
- shortcut icons like POS / Employee Portal could disappear or not load correctly
- the “Add to Desktop” message was not showing
- edit mode could get messy with repeated right-click menus
- folder creation and saving layout were not always stable
I tested this locally on version-16, and the branch is already pushed.
