I read with interest about the new color picker for calendar events. I upgraded, but when I try this, I still only have a drop down selector with names and not the nice color picker. is thsi right or a bug?
I tried bench clear-cache but it made no difference

hmm, odd, I do not get any errors in console. I’m using Chromium Version 59.0.3071.115 (Developer Build) (64-bit) ie std one for Manjaro Linux.
If I test in Opera I get same missing color picker, When I test in Firefox still no color picker.
even in https://demo.erpnext.com/ i only see a drop down with text colours. Where are you testing this?
