New local user stuck on "verifying..." when logging in

ERPNext: v13.0.1 (version-13)
Frappe Framework: v13.0.2 (version-13)

User email address is like “thisuser+alias@gmail.com”

Password is correct (errors instantly if not correct password)

Any ideas?

The problem is secure.gravatar.com is blocked at firewall.

Why does frappe require access to 3rd party gravatar to function?
