One Bom many items

Hello everyone,
How can i create one bom for many items…
Ex:
i have finished good items as w1,w2,w3 and i have a combined bom for all, i cannot or dont want to make a seperate bom for each item becoz the raw materials required to make these 3 items is a very very long list and can be seperated…

The issue being that work order requires bom for each item but i have only 1 bom for all.

Anyone can help ?

You can try using a multilevel BOM. Create a subassembly with your long list of items. Then use this sub assembly to build all items w1,w2,w3,etc.

nope that cant work becoz in case u make sub assembly then also u will have to make bom for each item… which is the main problem…

we want to produce 3-4 items with a certain quantity of raw materials… but can make bom for each item as its very very huge…

I don’t understand your question. If I don’t understand it, it’s likely others don’t either.

Perhaps providing more details on the issue and what your dream solution would be like will help.

My suggestion allows you to create a single BOM and use this BOM as sub-assembly. This allows you to use the sub-assembly in all three finished products,
without the need to create individual BOMs for w1, w2, w3.

Your question was: “How can i create one bom for many items”.

Sub-assembly/Multi-level BOM will allow you to do this.

You will still have to create BOMs for each item (w1, w2, w3) but these BOMs will have only one or two items (the sub-assmbly bom + a label or one unique item if desired).

thanks a lot for helping buddy,., but your solution doesnt work…
let me explain it again…

i have four items w1,w2,w3,w4… i dont have bom for each item… i have 1 bom thats all, which will create all the 4 items.

now when you create a workorder from a salesorder (this sale order has all 4 items, w1,w2,w3,w4), the workorder is created is a 4 different workorders but actually it has to be 1 workorder…

now coming to ur solution… even if i use multi level bom… then also at sub assemble level system will ask bom for each item…

Thank you for clarifying.

ERPNext does not support the production of multiple finished goods from a single process. There are workarounds involving the use of “waste” production. You can
change the waste warehouse to output the remaining two items.
