One of my clients was using Excel sheets for accounting entries then he shifted to a local accounting software and he transferred the balances of all the accounts both Assets and liabilities without making opening balance entry from the excel to the new system , now he wants to shift to ERPNext, my question is it possible to transfer the accounts without making an opening balance entry ?

It is possible but not advisable as your balance sheet would not show correct numbers.
why? and how to do so?
In ERPNext, there is no functionality to add opening balance while creating an account. You have to update opening balance via Journal Entry.
