Option to display a column in list view and field in doc view as monospace?

When dealing with alphanumeric data, it would facilitate to have the option to format a column in List view and fields in doc view as monospace so that similar letters and numbers are easibly distinguished at a glance.

For example:

  1. Item Code: Goodie-001 and Spinach-O1-l can be better represented
Goodie-001
SPINACH-O1-l

I understand that having all UPPERCASE or lowercase would solve it, but then again, some organisations would prefer proper case names with monospace formatting for linguistic reasons.
