Outgoing Email Settings Hangs

I have tried different connections , even gmail settings in the outgoing email settings, to be sure i have defined the ip's in the etc/hosts too , to make sure if there is any resolving issue. 


But when i save the settings , it takes infinite time and does nothing just hangs. Please advice.

We experienced the same problem. Had to set to local host for time being. As we are still in implementation phase, have not sorted out for long term. Local host should work

Issue is we have set the ERP on a VPS , and our mails are on our own server. i cannot do it locally. is there any-other way?

There is no reason SMTP cannot run locally, we used to do it for a long time until we switched to Mandrill recently.

I have the exact same issue.

We are also facing the same issue when we tried it yesterday.

we have the same issue. Gmail setup is working but NO emails are being sent. If I try another email provider, the screen just stays at saving with nothing happening for hours and it does not save the changes.

This all with the latest VM downloaded directly from you guys and the latest updates applied via bench. Any ideas??

Gmail and Mandrill both works. Attaching screenshot of settings, in case it help you.
(I do agree mails are getting delivered bit late compare to v4)

We have exactly the same setup. the Setup itself for gmail seems to work as we test it by putting the wrong password and we get an error. But no matter what emails we try sending, nothing gets sent. Not in inbox, nut in junk. Not to any account we have tried.

If we try setting up another account (no gmail) at saving, the system just stays forever in the saving screen and nothing happens.

Any ideas on how to see logs or anything else to verify emails are being sent?

Yes it is. I can telnet no problem to google’s smtp server on port 587. Any ideas?

Any ideas from anyone? Help! :frowning:

We tried switch to a Yahoo account as it is another of the “supported” ones in the drop one. Still the same issue: no emails going out although the system thinks they were sent. We have tried sending to all sort of emails accounts to checks spam/junk/etc. No luck. Emails are simply not received.

Is your scheduler working? Are your mails set from Bulk Email ?
