Partial output of Job Card 1 as input to Job Card 2 while first is running?

Hi all,

We have two stages for one product:

  • Stage 1 (Card Line): Work Order WO-1 makes semi-finished item A (batch-enabled), qty 2000 sqm.
  • Stage 2 (Stenter): Work Order WO-2 makes finished item B. Item A is a raw material in its BOM.

WO-1 is still running. 500 sqm of A is already produced, and we want to send just that 500 sqm from its batch to WO-2 so Stenter can start, while WO-1 keeps producing the remaining 1500 sqm.

Is there a standard ERPNext process for this?
(a) Partial Stock Entry (Manufacture) against the running Job Card, then transfer that qty to WO-2, or
(b) the Track Semi Finished Goods / “manufacture entry against Job Cards” feature, or
(c) something else?

Setup: multi-level BOM, Work Orders created from one Production Plan, Transfer Material Against = Job Card. [ERPNext version: 16.36 ]
