Peculiar UOM issue

I have a peculiar issue which I am not able to solve. A solution would be welcome.

I have a chemical for which an Item Master is defined.

Now the consumption of the acid in manufactory process is in milliliter. And 1 milliliter is 1.71 grams.

This item is generally purchased in 1 kg bottles.
Hence the Purchase UOM is set a Kg.
Default UOM is milliliter.

Now my problem is in defining the UOM section if item master where all three uom is defined.

The first two rows are clear. But what should be the value of the third row for Kg.

Can someone help with this ?

Shouldn’t KG be 1,000 times the gram value (1,710)?

That is what my confusion is. Does the conversion factor for the third row, depend on the First row or the second ?

I thought it was related to the default UOM. I have not tested conversions much.

the setup on screenshot is correct.

so now if you initially input 1000 mL and then change the UOM to kg, the quantity should auto update to 1.

Have not used conversions with UOMs but also wondering as we deal in materials / something similar… Shouldnt a qty of 1000 ml weigh 1.71 kg - 1710g? Also the question is whether the conversion occurs for every g to kg (1/1000) or from ml to kg?

Really?? If “1 milliliter is 1.71 grams“??

This is where confusion might become outright dangerous, depending on which and how such chemicals are used/processed and in which way the UI is not clearly understood or even not understandable without additional documentation (which might exist – or not).
