Printing with dot matrix and thermal printers

Anyone able to print standard and POS invoices with a Dot Matrix and Thermal Printer? I can’t seem to get mine to work - the printing quality is very low.

Please assist.

For thermal Printers see - POS invoice format not showing print dialog box - alternatives to POS printing? · Issue #2808 · frappe/erpnext · GitHub

It would be a good idea to include this in the app. Will be great if you can send a pull-request.

Yes, both dot matrix and thermal printers can work with standard and POS invoices, but they usually need printer-specific print formats. If the print quality is poor, first verify that you’re using the correct printer driver and paper size. For thermal printers, use a print format designed for 58 mm or 80 mm receipt paper and avoid high-resolution images, excessive CSS styling, or small fonts. For dot matrix printers, check the ribbon condition, print density, and ensure the printer is set to the correct emulation mode (such as Epson ESC/P if supported). If you’re printing from Frappe/ERPNext, it’s also worth testing a simplified print format to determine whether the issue is related to the template or the printer configuration. Could you share your printer model, ERPNext/Frappe version, and whether you’re printing through the browser, Raw Printing, or a print server? That information will help identify the root cause.
