Hello,
I have an item A that consists of nine sub-items. Two of these subitems (B & C) themselves consist of two and three sub-sub-items respectively. I have created a product bundle for sub-items B & C, and then wanted to create a product bundle for item A. However, I am told that the product bundle for item A cannot contain items that are already made of a product bundle. Here lies my first problem.
My second problem is now that I have created the product bundle for item A (I did not create a product bundle for sub-items B & C) the following work steps are different. sometimes, 7 out of the 9 sub-items are assembled, leaving me with an incomplete item A that needs another work step later on (the addition of sub-item 8 and 9). Sometimes all 9 sub-items are assembled all together and result in the final item A, which is then stored in the final warehouse.
How can I navigate all these sub-items and work steps?
Hi.
Product bundles are non-stock items, so they can’t be stored in any warehouse.
However, you can use a Bill of Materials (BOM) combined with the Repack option (in Stock Entry, with Stock Entry Type = Repack) as an easy way to transform sub-items into the new product.
The new items must be stock items and can be stored in a warehouse.
Hello Malvin,
Could you please elaborate.
For example. I have a BOM to create Item A out of raw material 1,2 & 3. Now I want to pack 100 pcs item A in one carton (item B). How can I do that?
Also I have a product, for example a car. that consists of item A (tires), B (engine), C (doors) & D (seats). So I create a BOM for each of the four items, but how do I then create the product ‘car’ that needs 4x item A, 1x item B, 2x item C and 4x item D?
